The Life of Resurrection That Does Not Know Death Forever
John 8:51, 11:25-26; 1 Corinthians 15:12-21
There is true hope for Christians, for there is a life of resurrection after death, or the hope for eternal life. In today’s scripture text, Jesus said at the tomb of Lazarus that if we believe in the fact that the Lord is the “resurrection and the life” (Jn 11:25-26), we will see the glory of God (Jn 11:39-40). Lazarus had already been dead for 4 days and bad odor became apparent. However, the Lord commanded at his death, “Lazarus, come out.” Lazarus, who had been dead for 4 days, walked out while his hands and feet still wrapped with strips of linen and a cloth around his face.
I. The greatest event that happened since creation was the birth of Jesus Christ.
If there is one greatest event that took place in this entire earth, it is the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It is the basic principle of reproduction for a woman to conceive a child through a man. However, the Son of God was conceived by the Holy Spirit and took on flesh. In order to come as the Atonement Lord, Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born on this earth without man. This event of the birth of Jesus Christ can be heard as a great hoax to non-believers, but it is the greatest event in the history of mankind. Who would acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God when he lived in private to honor his parents and as a poor carpenter’s son for the first 30 years out of his 33 years of life on this earth? Yet, everywhere he went during the 3 years of his public life, Jesus instilled the movement of life to those who were sick, poor, hungry and hopeless for Heaven because their spirits were dried up. He enabled them to see the living God and to have hope for Heaven. Our sinless Lord came to this earth in the form of sin, shouldered the sins of all mankind that existed since the fall of Adam and until the end times, and carried the cross. The precious blood shed on the cross while he shouldered all of our sins forgave us once and for all. When we believe in Jesus, our various sins that cannot be washed off with soap (Jer 2:22) will be forgiven so we can become the children of God.
II. The manifestation of the life of resurrection.
Through his resurrection, the Lord has revealed the life of resurrection. While he stayed on this Earth for an additional 40 days after he was resurrected, our Lord has shown himself 11 times to his disciples and personally showed the evidence of resurrection. He enabled them to understand the resurrection of Christ with His Word (Lk 24:13-35), showed then the wounds he incurred at the cross (Jn 20:26-28), and ate fish with them so that they would believe his resurrection (Lk 24:36-43). Jesus himself is life. There is no one under Heaven and Earth that can kill Jesus. Look at our Lord commanding death. Only Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God under Heaven and Earth can command, “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” (1 Cor 15:55-58). My beloved saints! The life of Jesus Christ has revived the daughter of Jairus, the synagogue leader (Mk 5:35-43). The Lord who is the life of resurrection has revived the only son of a widow in the city of Nain (Lk 7:11-16). Jesus is the true life. Everywhere Jesus went, the miracles of life transpired darkness to transition to a bright light and joy that replaced worries. When the Lord said, “Lazarus, come out!”, his decomposed flesh was restored at once. With the Lord’s Word alone, a lame man who was immobile for 38 years was able to pick up his mat and walk. The master of such life is Jesus. That is why there are no tombs for the Christians who believe in Jesus, for they will all resurrect in the end times. It is stated in the bible that the tombs will all break open. The tombs broke open and the bodies of many saints who died a martyr were raised to life. The fact that they went into Jerusalem after Jesus’ resurrection and appeared to many people as Jesus gave up his spirit clearly proves this (Mt 27:51-53).
III. The resurrection is the great self-proclamation of Jesus Christ.
The Lord who came to Bethany proclaimed the life that will not cease forever. The meaning of Bethany is “house of affliction” and the name Lazarus means “help of God.” When dark clouds disappeared, the bright light of life shone through Lazarus in the town that used to be filled with sadness, agony, discouragement and darkness like a tomb. The “house of affliction” became filled with the fragrance of life with the “help of God.” This was the great self-proclamation of Jesus Christ. Only Jesus is the Bread of Life (Lk 6:35), the Light of the world (Jn 8:12), the door for the sheep (Jn 10:7, 9), the Good Shepherd (Jn 10:11), and the True Vine (Jn 15:5). Jesus Christ is the only Way, Truth, and the Life (Jn 14:6).
Conclusion:
We have acquired a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Pet 1:3-4). Christians have the hope for eternal life and resurrection. The resurrected flesh is not perishable because it is the flesh of eternal life. That is why Christians that have hope for resurrection testify that to die is to “gain” (Php 1:21). With the faith of resurrection, I sincerely hope that all of you will triumph in this good fight of faith while longing for the advent of the Lord (2 Tim 4:7-8).

영원히 죽음을 모르는 부활 생명

기독교인들은 참된 소망이 있습니다. 왜냐하면 죽어도 다시 사는 부활 생명 즉 영생의 소망이 있기 때문입니다. 오늘 본문 말씀 볼 때, 나사로의 무덤 앞에서 주님은 주님이 “부활이요 생명” (요 11:25-26) 이라는 사실을 믿으면 영광을 보리라고 말씀하셨습니다 (요11:39-40). 나사로는 이미 죽은 지 나흘이나 되어서 썩은 냄새가 났습니다. 그런데 주님이 사망을 향해서 호령했습니다. “나사로야 나오라!” 죽은 지 나흘이 되어 벌써 썩은 냄새가 날 정도였지만 죽은 나사로는 수족을 동인 채로 수건으로 얼굴을 싸고 걸어서 나왔습니다.
1. 창세 이후 가장 큰 사건은 예수 그리스도의 사건입니다.
창세 이후로 이 지구 팔만 리 땅에 벌어진 대사건이 있다면 하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도의 사건입니다. 여자가 남자를 통하여 아이를 낳는 것이 창조 원리입니다. 그런데 하나님의 아들이 남자 없이 성령으로 잉태되어 육신을 입었습니다. 주님은 속죄주로 오시기 위해 남자 없이 성령으로 이 땅에 태어났습니다. 믿지 못하는 사람들에게는 큰 거짓말로 들릴 수밖에 없는 이러한 예수의 탄생 사건은 인류 역사 가운데 가장 큰 사건입니다. 주님은 33년 동안 이 땅에 계시면서 30년 사생활 가운데 부모 공경하면서 목수의 아들로서 가난하기 짝이 없는 생활을 하셨습니다. 그러니 누가 그를 하나님의 아들로 인정하겠습니까? 그러나 주님은 3년 공생애 가운데 가는 곳마다 병들고 가난하고 못살고, 먹지 못하고 영혼이 말라 꼬드러져 천국의 소망도 희미한 사람들에게 생명의 역사를 일으켰습니다. 살아 계신 하나님을 보게 하고, 천국의 소망을 갖게 했습니다. 죄 없는 그분이 죄 있는 모양으로 와서 아담 죄지은 후부터 앞으로 끝날 때까지 이 땅에 수천만만의 모든 죄를 걸머지고 십자가를 지졌습니다. 우리의 죄를 걸머지고 십자가에서 흘리신 보배로운 피가 우리의 모든 죄를 단번에 사해 줍니다. 수다한 양잿물로도 씻을 수 없는 죄(렘 2:22)가 예수를 믿는 순간 다 사함 받고 하나님의 아들딸이 되게 합니다.
2. 부활 생명이 나타났습니다.
주님은 부활하심으로 부활 생명을 드러내셨습니다. 주님은 부활 후에 40일 동안 땅에 계시는 동안 11번 제자들에게 보이시면서 친히 부활의 증거를 보이셨습니다. 말씀으로 그리스도의 부활을 깨닫게 하시고(눅 24:13-35), 십자가의 상처를 보이시고(요 20:26-28), 생선을 잡수셔서 주님의 부활을 제자들이 믿게 하셨습니다(눅 24:36-43). 예수님은 생명 자체입니다. 천상천하에 예수 죽일 존재는 없습니다. 사망을 향해서 호령하는 거 보세요. “사망아 너의 이기는 것이 어디 있느냐 사망아 너의 쏘는 것이 어디 있느냐”(고전 15:55-58)라고 호통을 치실 분은 천상천하에 오직 살아 계시는 하나님의 아들 예수밖에 없습니다. 사랑하는 성도 여러분! 예수 그리스도의 생명이 회당장 야이로의 딸을 살렸습니다(마 5:35-43). 부활 생명이신 주님은 죽은 나인성 과부의 독자 아들을 일으켜 세웠습니다(눅 7:11-16). 예수님은 참생명 자체입니다. 예수님이 가는 곳마다 생명의 기적이 일어나 어둠이 물러가고, 밝은 빛이 되고, 근심이 사라지고, 기쁨과 잔치할 수 있을 정도로 다 좋아했습니다. 주님이 ‘나사로야 나오너라!’ 하실 때 썩은 육신이 순간 다 회복되었습니다. 주님의 말씀 한마디로 38년 동안 걸어 보지도 못한 환자가 자리를 들고 걸어갔습니다. 이러한 생명의 주인이 예수님입니다. 그렇기 때문에 예수 믿는 기독교 신자들은 무덤이 없습니다. 왜냐하면 마지막에 부활하기 때문입니다. 무덤이 다 터진다고 했습니다. 주님이 십자가 달릴 때 무덤이 열려서 자던 성도들이 많이 일어나서 예루살렘 들어가서 많은 사람들에게 보인 사건은 그것을 확증해 줍니다(마 27:51-53).

결론:
