I Will be the God of All Families
The saints who receive salvation are spiritually one family that possess the unity to believe in Jesus Christ as One Savior. It is written in Hymn 278, “one blood, one body all are we.” Thus, the saints who receive salvation are one family with one body and one faith by believing one God, one Father, and one Savior Jesus Christ and by receiving the same Holy Spirit (Eph 4:4-6, 1 Cor 12:13). Therefore, from now on, we are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of His household (Eph 2:19). If so, did God become the God of your family? The reason that Jesus was crucified and shed all of his blood and water on the cross, died, and resurrected for the sin of mankind was to restore the families.
I. The family is given by God.
God who created the heavens and earth and everything under them, especially created mankind in His likeness and image and gave 3 blessings. “Fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over every living creature” (Gen 1:28). The man who was created by God was pure, innocent and holy without sin, blemishes or defects. After God created Adam, He said “It is not good for the man to be alone” and created his helper (Gen 2:18). After God put Adam to sleep, He took one of Adam’s ribs and created a woman. Adam said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh” when he saw Eve. That’s how the family was established (Gen 2:20-23, Mt 19:5). The Garden of Eden was a place of joy and happiness and there was not even a shadow of darkness and agony. That is the place without distress or insufficiency. God allowed Adam and Eve to have such family.
II. We must protect our families so that God becomes the Head of our households.
God must become the Head of our families. After God created the Garden of Eden, He commanded them to work it and take care of it (Gen 2:15). Because He knew something is likely to enter in, God commanded them so. However, Adam the ancestor of mankind was not able to work it or take care of it. It is even harder to guard one’s heart than to guard the city (Prov 16:32). Hence, our life of faith must start with guarding our heart first. We must always safely guard our heart so that we will not pour out God’s grace, love and blessing onto the ground. As a result of getting evicted from the Garden of Eden, the agony, pain, sickness and sorrow all began. We were destined die. There was Job in the land of Ur in the East who was blameless and upright (Job 1:1). His family was a very happy family that God was always with them. However, Satan was jealous and envious and completely destroyed his household. He lost all his 10 children. All his possessions were taken. Not only that, he was afflicted with painful sores from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet. He was mocked and ridiculed by his townsmen. However, Satan may have destroyed Job’s household but was not able to destroy his heart. What Satan attacked first was the family of Adam. Satan thought that once Adam’s family was destroyed, the Kingdom of God will be destroyed as well. The devil is jealous and envious that the families are well and prosperous so he destroys them. In order to destroy the families of the saints first, Satan works so that the saints are not able to attend church. My beloved saints! The Kingdom of God will be established on this earth, and it will be established through all the families of God.
III. Beautiful Church begins from beautiful households.
The church started from the families. Even though God wanted the humans to establish the family and live happily, they have sinned with their disobedience. God’s best alternative to save mankind who brought unhappiness onto themselves was to send the Seed of a Woman (Gen 3:15). According to His promise, Jesus came as the Seed of a Woman through the family of Mary and Joseph. The work of the Holy Spirit began in the Upper Room of Mark and John, and the movement of church began (Acts 1, 2:1-3). The Church in Philippi began in the house of Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth (Acts 16). The Church in Corinth started in the house of Aquila and Priscilla who risked their lives for Paul, the servant of God (Rom 16:3, 1 Cor 16:19, Acts 18). The Church in Colossae started in the house of Philemon (Mon 1:1-10). The Church in Laodicea started in the house of Nympha (Col 4:15). Our Pyungkang Cheil Church in Korea began with 6 people in a house. The family became a framework that gave birth to the Kingdom of God on this earth, and it is the cradle for the proclamation of the Word and the path that the church can spread on. The family is the last bastion for the church. Hence, the family must be well. The household simply is not a place that one physically sleeps, eats, begets and rears the children. The household must become the church where our God is the Head. Such a family is “good in His eyes.”
Conclusion:
What should we do in order for a household to be like the church? First, we must accept God as our Father and Jesus Christ as our Savior, so that our family is always filled with the joy and happiness of salvation. Second, our family must be filled with abundant grace, the Word, and the Holy Spirit so that we can fulfill the duties as the light and the salt of the world. Third, our hearts must be filled with abundant love and forgiveness of God. Fourth and most importantly, like Amram and Jochebed, the parents of Moses who was the father of the wilderness church, we must become a cradle of love and faith that begets and rears the leader who will lead the new history (2 Cor 3:15-17). Fifth, there must be worship, education and evangelism in our household as they exist in church.
내가 모든 가족의 하나님이 되고
구원 받은 성도들은 예수 그리스도를 동일한 구주로 믿는 통일성을 가진 영적인 한 가족입니다. 찬송가에도 “한 피 받아 한 몸 이룬 형제”라고 했습니다(찬 278장). 구원 받은 성도들은 한 하나님, 한 아버지, 한 구주 예수 그리스도를 믿어 같은 성령을 받아, 한 믿음으로 한 몸을 이룬 가족입니다(엡 4:4-6, 고전 12:13). 그러므로 이제부터는 외인도 아니요 손도 아니요, 오직 성도들과 동일한 시민이요 하나님의 권속, 즉 하나님의 가족입니다(엡 2:19). 그렇다면 여러분들의 가정에 하나님께서 가족의 하나님이 되셨습니까? 예수께서 인류의 죄를 위해 십자가에 달려 물과 피 한 방울 남기지 않고 다 쏟으시고 죽으셨다가 부활하신 것도 바로 가정 회복을 위해서입니다.
1. 가정은 하나님께서 주셨습니다.
천지와 만물을 만드신 하나님께서 특별히 인간을 하나님의 모양과 형상대로 창조하셨고, 세 가지 축복을 주셨습니다. “만물을 다스리라, 땅을 정복하라, 땅에 충만하라”(창 1:28). 하나님의 형상으로 창조된 인간은 죄나 흠과 티가 없고 깨끗하고 맑고 거룩했습니다. 하나님은 아담을 만드신 후 “독처하는 것이 좋지 못하다”(창 2:18)고 하시면서 돕는 배필을 지었습니다. 아담을 잠들게 하신 후 아담의 갈비뼈를 취해서 여자를 만드셨습니다. 아담은 여자를 보고 “내 뼈 중의 뼈요, 살 중의 살이라”고 했습니다. 그렇게 가정을 이루었습니다(창 2:20-23, 마 19:5). 에덴동산은 기쁘고 즐거운 곳으로, 어두움과 근심의 그림자도 없는 곳입니다. 불편한 것이나 부족함이 없는 곳입니다. 하나님은 아담과 하와에게 그러한 가정을 허락하신 것입니다.
2. 하나님이 내 가정의 가장이 되시도록 가정을 지켜야 합니다.
하나님이 우리 가정의 주인 되셔야 됩니다. 하나님께서 에덴을 창조하신 후 에덴동산을 다스리고 지키라는 명령을 주셨습니다(창 2:15). 무엇인가 들어오겠기에 하나님은 그렇게 말씀하신 것입니다. 그러나 인류의 시조는 다스리고 지키지 못했습니다. 성을 지키는 것보다 자기 마음 지키는 것이 훨씬 어렵습니다(잠 16:32). 그러므로 신앙생활은 마음을 지키는 일부터 해야 됩니다. 받은 하나님의 은혜와 사랑과 축복을 땅에 쏟지 않도록 늘 마음을 지켜야 합니다. 에덴에서 쫓겨난 결과로 고통과 괴로움, 병과 아픔이 시작되었습니다. 또 죽음을 맛보아야 했습니다.
동방 우스 땅에 아주 순전하고 정직한 욥이 있었습니다(욥 1:1). 그의 가정은 하나님이 함께하시는 아주 행복한 가정이었습니다. 그런데 사단이 시기 질투해서 그 가정을 완전히 파괴하였습니다. 자식 10남매 다 죽었습니다. 재산 모두 빼앗겼습니다. 심지어 머리부터 발끝까지 악창이 나서 못 알아 볼 정도였습니다. 동네 사람들에게 조소와 업신여김을 받았습니다. 그러나 사단은 욥의 가정을 파괴했지만 욥의 마음은 파괴하지 못했습니다.
사단이 제일 먼저 공격한 것은 아담의 가정이었습니다. 아담의 가정이 파괴되면 하나님의 나라도 파괴될 줄 알았던 것입니다. 마귀들은 가정이 잘되는 것을 시기하고 질투하여 가정을 파괴합니다. 사단은 무엇보다도 믿는 성도의 가정을 우선적으로 파괴하려고, 교회 나가지 못하도록 역사합니다. 성도 여러분, 하나님의 나라가 이 땅에 이루어지는데 가정을 통해서 이루어집니다. 온 가족이 회복되어야 합니다. 온 가족의 하나님이 되셔야 합니다.
3. 아름다운 교회는 아름다운 가정에서부터 시작됩니다.
교회는 가정에서 시작되었습니다. 하나님은 그토록 인간이 가정을 이루고 행복하게 살기를 원했지만 인간은 불순종으로 말미암아 죄를 범했습니다. 그러나 불행을 자초한 인간들을 구원하시기 위한 하나님의 최선의 대안은 여자의 후손을 보내시는 것이었습니다(창 3:15). 그 말씀대로 마리아와 요셉 가정을 통해서 예수께서 여자의 후손으로 오셨습니다. 성령 역사도 마가 요한 가정의 다락방에서 일어나서 교회가 시작되었습니다(행 1장, 2:1-3). 빌립보 교회는 자주(紫紬) 장사 루디아의 집에서(행 16장), 고린도 교회는 하나님의 종 바울을 위해서 목숨을 내놓은 아굴라와 브리스가의 집에서(롬 16:3-5, 고전 16:19, 행 18장), 골로새 교회는 빌레몬의 집에서(몬 1:1-10), 라오디게아 교회는 눔바의 집에서 시작되었습니다(골 4:15). 평강제일교회도 가정에서 6명으로 시작했습니다. ‘가정’은 하나님의 나라를 이 땅에서 탄생시키는 데에 요람지가 되었고, 말씀 선포의 요람지, 교회가 퍼져 나갈 수 있는 통로입니다. 가정은 교회 최후의 보루입니다. 그러므로 가정이 잘되어야 합니다. 가정은 단순히 육신적으로 잠자고, 먹고, 자식 낳고 기르는 곳이 아닙니다. 가정은 하나님이 주인이신 교회가 되어야 합니다. 그러한 가정이 “하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라”입니다.
결론:
교회 같은 가정이 되기 위해서는 어떻게 해야 합니까? 첫째, 하나님을 아버지로 모시고 예수 그리스도를 구주로 모셔, 구원의 즐거움과 기쁨이 항상 머물러 있는 가정이 되어야 합니다. 둘째, 성령 충만, 은혜 충만, 말씀 충만하여 세상에서 소금과 빛의 직분을 다하여야 합니다. 셋째, 하나님의 사랑과 용서가 마음에 충만해야 합니다. 넷째, 무엇보다 광야 교회의 아버지라고 불리는 모세의 부모 아므람과 요게벳처럼, 새 역사를 이끌 인물을 낳고 기르는 믿음과 사랑의 요람지가 되어야 합니다(딤후 3:15-17). 다섯째, 가정에는 교회와 똑같이 예배와 교육과 전도가 있어야 합니다. 우리 평강제일교회 전 성도의 가정이 하나님이 주인이신 교회가 되어 가기를 축원합니다.
